Zeitwanderung – Berlin (2018)

Posted in Urban Interventions

“Zeitwanderung” was a guided tour through the city in the frame of “Remembering the Future – 40 years of Tanzfabrik Berlin and Open Spaces/Sommer Tanz 2018. More than 50 participants took part in this big group journey by foot and train across the districts Kreuzberg, Tiergarten and Wedding on the trail of Berlin’s recent dance history.

On the way from its initial base of operations in Kreuzberg to the new production location in Uferstudios, the tour provided an insight into the collective history of dance and Tanzfabrik over the last four decades. It painted a sketch of a Tanzfabrik that is composed of the interactions between people and places, urban policy changes, historical fissures, existential crises, world tours and strange coincidences. Some eyewitnesses can also be heard via headphones.
